New Years Eve at The Vinewood
December 31st 2006 Topeka KS
During December the band played for a few private Christmas parties, then concluded the 2006 year performing for a New Year's Eve bash before a huge crowd at the Vinewood Roadhouse in Topeka. The evening included a catered dinner, lots of dancing, party favors and a champagne toast at midnight. The whole evening was a blast, and was certainly a great way to ring in the New Year!!!

Ramblers Steak House and Saloon
November 3, 2006 Manhatten KS
In November, the Bender's were in Manhattan for another great show at Rambler's, followed by a 4 night stretch performing again at the Ameristar Casino in Kansas City. Kevin May celebrated his birthday this year at the Depot # 9. There of course were many friends and fans on hand to make the occasion more memorable...including two very special guests, Kevin's wife, Jean and son Taylor.
In October, the band picked up a new venue in Junction City called Woody's. This is a fairly new club that just opened this year. I understand that the building was an old slaughter house, interstingly, but it has certainly been renovated very nicely. There is adequate seating, a large dance floor...and the owners are very nice too, I might add. It looks like the band has several shows scheduled at Woody's in the coming months, so I encourage you all to come check it out! The Saturday before Halloween, the Bender's played for the annual Lawrence Memorial Hospital Breast Cancer Benefit in Lawrence. This is the third year in a row that the band has performed at this event. Once again, there were many people, in many great costumes, that came out to support such a great cause!
Topeka Moose Lodge
Topeka KS
September proved to be a busy month, as the Bender's had several back to back shows in Topeka. First was a performance at the Moose Lodge, followed by another booking at the Vinewood Roadhouse. A special guest in attendance for this show, was Carolyn Nieland from McAllen, Texas...who is the Rev. Nate Orlando's sister. I believe she gets the award for the most miles traveled for a single performance!! Also in September, the Bender's played at the Capitol Plaza Hotel for a private class reunion party for the Highland Park High School Class of 1956. Two long time Bender fans, Jane and Melba, were part of this graduating class.

The end of August, the Benders performed in St. George, Kansas (for the second year in a row) at the St. George Family Fun Days in the city park. Although an earlier rain shower came through, it all blew over by show time, and the rest of the evening was great. Everyone had a fun time, especially the kids!

Happy Birthday SKI!!!!!
The Bender's were back in Kansas City for another 5 day stretch at the Ameristar. It was during this time that Rodney the Rubber Rooster made a final appearance before his permanent retirement. However, we were all introduced to his replacement, Rudy...the NEW Rubber Rooster, whom also squawks a beautiful birthday song! And, speaking of birthdays, Randy Weber, (a long time friend of Dave and Kevin's from Wichita), came up to KC to celebrate his birthday with the Bender's.
Private Party, Wheaton KS
Happy Birthday Daryl!
The Benders have had a pretty busy schedule these past few months, the band made a long trip north to Wheaton, Kansas for a private party celebrating Daryl Graf's 70th birthday. A big thank you to Daryl and Sherri, for inviting The Benders to share their special evening with them.
